Yolanda Mariano

Of Winthrop

Yolanda (D’Arrigo) Mariano of Winthrop passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 24.

The beloved wife of the late Angelo Mariano, she was the devoted mother of Paul Mariano and his wife, Kathy, Diane Spinucci, Janice Hemming and her husband, Richard, Anthony and his wife, Tricia, Brian Mariano and his wife, Eleanor, David Mariano and his wife, Kristen and Lenny Mariano and his wife, Debra; loving sister of Joseph D’Arrigo, Olga Costa and the late Frank D’Arrigo and Ann Sidoti. She was the cherished grandmother of 14 and adored great-grandmother of nine. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were by the Ruggiero Family Funeral Home, East Boston. Yolanda was laid to rest with her husband, Angelo, in the Belle Island section of Winthrop Cemetery, 100 Kennedy Drive, Winthrop. Pietro (Peter) Rizzuto

Retired Senior VP and General Manager of Perini Construction

Pietro (Peter) P. Rizzuto of Braintree, formerly of Norfolk, passed away on July 30 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 72.

Born and raised in Palermo, Italy, Peter immigrated to the United States at the age of 15 and settled in East Boston where he graduated from East Boston High School and later Wentworth Institute of Technology. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Boston and he was awarded several medals and citations, including the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars.

Peter began a career in the construction industry with the Perini Corp. in 1968 and worked his way up to Senior Vice President and General Manager when he retired in 2002. Peter served on many boards and committees that included The Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America, Laborers International Union of North America (LIUNA) and the Massachusetts Laborers Benefits Fund. He was instrumental in starting the mentoring program at Wentworth Institute.

In his free time, Peter enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. A devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather, Peter will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known him.

Peter was the beloved husband of Patricia (Connolly) Rizzuto; loving father of Peter J. Rizzuto and his wife, Cindy LaCroix of Brookline, NH, Christina Joseph and her husband, Jonathan of Needham and Joseph J. Rizzuto of Hawaii; devoted brother of Hugo Rizzuto and Josephine Rude, both of Revere and the late Domenic Rizzuto; loving “Nonno” to Isabella, Gabriella, Marina, Valentina and Alexander. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Lena Parker

Lifelong East Boston resident

Lena (Cinelli) Parker, a lifelong resident of East Boston, passed away on July 30 at the age of 89.

She was the devoted mother of Charlene Porzio and her husband, Thomas of Tewksbury and Gaylene Parker of East Boston; cherished grandmother of Alina Lyn and Aria Jade Porzio and dear sister of the late James “Bozo” Cinelli, Joe Joe Cinelli, Mary O’Brien, John “Sunny” Cinelli and Anthony Cinelli. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Agata (Aggie) Sorrentino

Of East Boston

Agata (Aggie) M. Sorrentino of East Boston, formerly of Marsala, Italy, passed away on July 27, after a short illness at the age of 55.

She was the cherished daughter of Francesco and the late Giacoma (Mannone) Sorrentino, dear Sister of Giovanna D’Angelo and her husband, Riccardo of Lynnfield, Girolamo Sorrentino of East Boston, Antonio “Franco” and his wife, Regina of Wilmington, Connie Tuazon and her husband, Jessie of Revere and Tiziana Sorrentino of East Boston. She is also survived by nine loving nieces and nephews, and six great nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Anna Rose (Arena) Capillo of Saugus passed away unexpectedly on July 24.

The beloved wife of the late Charles Capillo Sr., she was the devoted mother to Charles Jr. and his late wife, Deborah Capillo of Marblehead, Guy Capillo and his wife, Linda of Saugus, Cathy Capillo of Saugus and Gregory Capillo and his wife, Karen of Peabody; cherished sister of Guy Arena of Wilmington and the late Pauline Donatelli, John Arena, Domenic Arena, Esther Diorio, Josephine Arena and Angelo Arena; loving grandmother to Carla, Charles III, Cassandra, Toni-Ann, Guy Angelo, Gregory and Nicholas and adored great-grandmother of Jayden, Dylan, Charlotte, Sutton, Adeline and Sislee. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Paula E (Ricci) Guarnaccia of East Boston peacefully surrounded by her loving family by her bedside on July 29 .Beloved wife of 56 years to Joseph J Guarnaccia, devoted mother of Rocco Guarnaccia and wife Christine of Wilmington, Pia Penney and husband Steven of East Boston, Dr Joseph R Guarnaccia and wife Melissa of Windham N.H. Loving daughter of the late John and Pia (lLepri)Ricci  Dear sister of Myron Ricci of Bedford N.H, Frank Ricci of East Boston, and Joyce Boyan of Reading. Cherished  grandmother of Joseph Robert, Zachary Matthew, Joseph Charles, Sarah Faith and Christopher Ricci. Also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews. Family and friends will honor Mrs. Guarnaccia ‘s life by gathering in the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home 971 Saratoga St (Orient Heights) East Boston on Thursday Aug 2 from 4-8pm and again on Friday morning at 7:30am before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church East Boston for a funeral mass in celebration of her life at 9am. Services will conclude with Mrs Guarnaccia being laid to rest in Holy Cross cemetery.
