Phyllis ‘Fannie’ DeMarco

Of East Boston

Phyllis “Fannie” (Capozzi) DeMarco of East Boston passed away on Thursday, May 10.  She was 97 years old.

The beloved wife of the late Louis “Louie” DeMarco, she was the loving mother of Shirley Siciliano and her husband, Peter of Lynnfield and the late Ronald DeMarco; cherished sister of Jeanette Monaco of New York and the late Josephine Manke, Margaret Bonavita, Susie Martini, Michelina Lonardo, Angela DeMarco, Tiberio “Bay” Capozzi, Crescenzio “Gunga” Capozzi and Alphonso “Fofo” Capozzi.  She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marie Mattera

Of East Boston

Marie S. (Coderre) Mattera of East Boston passed away on May 11.

The beloved wife of Salvatore “Smiley” Mattera, she was the loving mother of Marie Ciaccio and her husband, Lenny of Lynn, David Videtti and his wife, Kelly of Chelsea and Stacey Mattera of Framingham and is also survived by seven loving grandchildren: Brandon and his wife, Gina, Jarred, Joshua, Madison, Nathan, Giovanna and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home 971 Saratoga St. (Orient Heights) East Boston today, Wednesday morning, May 16 at 9 a.m. for funeral services in our Serenity Chapel immediately following at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with Marie being laid to rest in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Sharon E. (Frizzi) Merullo of East Boston passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 10.

She was the cherished mother of Sharna E. Merullo-Sullivan and her husband, Brian J., Jr. of Saugus, Shanee K. Merullo-Masciulli and her husband, Paul and Shaylyn G. Merullo, all of East Boston; beloved daughter of Anthony O. “Nene” Frizzi, Sr. and the late Grace (Crosby) Frizzi; dear twin sister of Karen L. Martone and her late husband, Joseph and dear sister of Anthony O. “Nene” Frizzi, Jr., all of East Boston. She was the loving soul mate of Darrell Challis of East Boston, devoted glammie of Brian and Gennaro and is also lovingly survived by three nieces; Koriana, Jennafa and Keira as well as many other family members and friends.
