Lena Giannattasio

Of Saugus

Lena A. (Falsini) Giannattasio of Saugus passed away peacefully on October 13 at the age of 94.

She was the beloved wife of the late Francis Giannattasio, devoted mother the late Michael and his surviving wife, Kathy (Casey) of Tewksbury, beloved sister of the late Arthur Falsini, Stella Rossi, Libby Rossi and Egidio Taliani and cherished grandmother of Michael and Kevin.  She is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were by the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, East Boston.  Interment was in the Shefield Mausoleum at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Stephen Francis Cahill

Served 22 years in the Army National Guard

Stephen Francis Cahill of East Boston died on October 14.

Stephen was a US Army Vietnam Veteran who retired after serving 22 years in the Army National Guard.

The beloved husband of Puksil (Kang) Cahill, he was the loving father of Puksil M. and Kim G. Cahill, both of East Boston and grandfather of Daryll Cahill.

His Funeral will be held from the Magrath Funeral Home, 325 Chelsea St. [at Day Sq] East Boston on Thursday morning, October 19 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in the Sacred Heart Church, 45 Brooks St., East Boston at 10 o’clock.  Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be today, Wednesday, October 18 from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment with Military Honors will be held in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne on Thursday at 1 p.m.

Indoor parking and entrance to funeral home is available from 340 Bremen St.

Margaret Giardina

Of East Boston

Margaret R. (Tedesco) Giardina of East Boston passed away peacefully on October 13 at the age of 74.

The beloved wife of the late Paul Giardina, Sr., she was the devoted mother of Paul Giardina, Jr. and his wife, Linda of East Boston, Donna Knight and her husband, Edward of Everett and the late Vincent A. Giardina. She was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters and is also lovingly survived by nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Family and friends will honor Margaret’s life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga St., East Boston today, Wednesday, October 18 at 8:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church East Boston for a Funeral Mass in celebration of Margaret’s life at 10 a.m. All other services will be private.

George Rowe

Of New Hampshire, formerly of East Boston

George C. Rowe of Manchester, N.H., formerly of East Boston, passed away suddenly at home from complications of COPD on June 15.

He was the loving son of the late George Rowe and Ruth (Lippert) Faiella, cherished step-son of the late Joseph “Chicken Joe” Faiella and Herbert Beck, beloved husband of the late Stella (Diaz) Rowe and devoted father of the late William Flamingo. He was the dear brother of Mark Dover and his wife, Karen, Norman Rowe, Dawn Chestnut,

Melody Stauff, Ruby “Puddin” Parziale

and her husband, James, Joseph Faiella and his wife, Kristin, Erik Faiella, Adam

Faiella and the late Clayton Rowe and Frank      Faiella.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor George’s life with a Funeral Mass on Saturday, October 21  at 11 a.m. at St. Lazarus Church, 59 Ashley St., East Boston followed by visiting hours with family and friends from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga St. (Orient Heights), East Boston. George will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at a later date.

The family would like to thank everybody for their kind words regarding his passing.

 

Barbara Finnerty

Of Somerville

Babara (Caparella) Finnerty of Somerville died in East Boston on October 10 at the age of 81. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Finnerty, devoted mother of Mark Noe and his wife, Ann of Winchendon, Debra Alderman of Somerville and Denise Banks and her husband, Martin of East Boston; dear sister of Stephen Caparella and his wife, Sandra of Revere; cherished grandmother of nine and great grandmother of five. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Elena Conroy

Longtime member of the Archconfraternity of Christian Mothers

Elena (Cerrone) Conroy died In East Boston on October 10.

Elena was a longtime member of the Archconfraternity of Christian Mothers.

She was the beloved wife of the late James M. Conroy Sr., mother of James M. Conroy Jr. and his wife, Joanna of Revere and the late Thomas F. Conroy; sister of Phyllis Cerrone of East Boston and the late Prudence, Joseph and Anthony Cerrone and Mary Spelladora; grandmother of James M. Conroy III and his wife, Melissa and Johnathan Conroy and his wife, Lauren and great-grandmother of Ava Jaymes Conroy.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Elena’s funeral was held on Saturday, October 14, with a Funeral Mass celebrated in Sacred Heart Church. Interment followed at St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
