Clippership Wharf Sells Half of Its Phase One Pre-Construction Units

Lendlease’s Clippership Wharf, that was in the planning stages for nearly two decades, is shaping up to be one of the neighborhood’s most anticipated waterfront developments. Following the success of the Eddy, Clippership’s Phase I building known as Slip65 is selling like hotcakes.

The first 40 units of the 80 unit development have already been sold to enthusiastic buyers according to Lendlease’s General Manager Nick Iselin.

Iselin said in two days the Clippership Wharf’s first phase was sold out. All of the 40 units set record breaking prices for condos in Eastie and sold anywhere between $700 to over $1,200 per square foot.

The average condo price in Eastie was hovering near $500 per square foot.

“We are proud to see how Slip65 has been embraced by the market and are especially satisfied to be selling condos for over $1.5 million in East Boston,” said Iselin. “The demand for Slip65 has been overwhelming across all price ranges.”

Iselin said Slip65 is part of the first phase of development of Clippership Wharf, a vibrant mixed-use community on the waterfront. The project is being delivered in two phases and will be comprised of four buildings, including condominiums and rental apartments, retail spaces, quality amenities, and a dynamic vision for community programming and dining.

While all other waterfront developments in Eastie so far have been rental, Slip65 is the only ownership option set to be delivered on the Eastie’s shoreline.

Iselin said construction is well underway and residents who bought the first 40 units are expected to take occupancy in the Fall of 2018.

“We hope Clippership Wharf will be the catalyst for a new kind of waterfront experience, one that will be embraced equally by its residents and the neighborhood,” Iselin stated.

Set directly on Boston Harbor adjacent to Maverick Square, Clippership Wharf boasts some of the city’s most spectacular views of the Boston skyline and the shortest commute to Downtown.

Iselin said residents at Clippership Wharf will benefit from an amenity package including indoor/outdoor gathering areas, a fitness and social club, ample bike storage, a Zipcar program, on-site parking, and an unparalleled waterfront experience featuring an expanded Harborwalk, a rocky beach and living shoreline area, public docks, and multiple dining and recreation options.

“This weekend’s extraordinary success at Slip65 confirms the emergence of East Boston as an ‘in-demand’ location – minutes to Boston with million dollar views,” said Sue Hawkes, Managing Director of The Collaborative Companies, who are the sales agent for the project. “To sell 40 units in 36 hours is just an amazing response, and we anticipate similar demand for the second block when it is made available.”
