Joseph D’Allesandro

Retired Federal Government Auditor and late member of the East Boston Savings Bank

Board of Directors

Joseph B. D’Alessandro of East Boston passed away on April 4 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was 87 years old.

A US Army Korean War veteran, Joseph retired as an auditor for the Federal Government and was a late member of the East Boston Savings Bank Board of Directors.

The beloved husband of Angela (Petillo) D’Alessandro, he was the cherished son of the late Biaggio and Elena D’Alessandro; loving father of John D’Alessandro and his wife, Brenda of

Wakefield, and Joseph D’Alessandro and his wife, Melanie of Foxborough; dear brother of the late John D’Alessandro and adored grandfather of Amanda, John and Mario D’Alessandro.

Samuel ‘Sonny’ DePaulo

Retired City of Boston computer operator, past member of the East Boston Land Use Council

Samuel ‘Sonny’ DePaulo of East Falmouth, formerly of East Boston, passed away peacefully on April 7.

Sonny was a retired computer operator for the City of Boston and an avid and loyal fan of his beloved Red Sox — but what Sonny cherished most was the love and enjoyment of his family. He was a past member of the East Boston Land Use Council and an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus Post #2962.

The beloved son of the late Pasquale and Antonetta DePaulo, he was the loving brother of Phyllis Giannini and her late husband, Francis of East Falmouth and the late Angelina Giannini and husband, John of Brockton; cherished uncle of Francine Daggett and her husband, John of Falmouth, Philip Giannini and his wife, Diane of Tyngsboro and Sandra Pocius of Brockton. He is also survived by two great nieces, Samantha and Gina and one great nephew, Anthony.

Funeral arrangements were by the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home (Orient Heights) East Boston. Services concluded with Sonny being laid to rest in St. Michael Cemetery, Roslindale. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sonny’s memory may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN  38105-3678. John Keegan, Jr.

Of Saugus, formerly of East Boston

John J. Keegan, Jr. of Saugus, formerly of East Boston, died unexpectedly on April 5 at the age of 37.

The loving son of John J. Sr. and his late wife,  Phyllis (Rule) Keegan, he was the beloved father of John J.  Keegan III, dear brother of Toni Ann Piemonte and her husband, Sabino and Christine Keegan and her companion, Frank; cherished uncle of Shane, Jenna, Samantha, Olivia and Sofia and adored great uncle of Aviana.

Family and friends will honor John’s life by gathering in the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street (Orient Heights) East Boston today, Wednesday,  April 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. with a service in our Serenity Chapel at 7:45 p.m. Cremation service will be private.
