Eastie Jets defeat Cambridge 2-1 in state tournament

East Boston Jets defeated Cambridge on Sunday evening, 2-1, at the Stoneham Arena in their opening round game of the State Tournament. Eastie will now proceed to face off against archrival Boston Latin Academy in what will be a rubber match – State Tourney style – on Thursday, March 9, in Chelmsford. Boston Latin Academy beat Eastie in the City Championship two weeks ago in an epic comeback that resulted in an improbably win. The rematch is certain to be a highly anticipated game.

East Boston Little League holds sign-ups Wednesday for ’17 season

East Boston Little League president Chucky Cassaro has announced that the league will hold a registration session for the 2017 season today (Wednesday) from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Burger King in Orient Heights.

Boys and girls, ages 6 to 16, are welcomed to sign up for the season.
