Buddy Mangini Elected Chamber President

Longtime East Boston Chamber of Commerce Officer and community leader Albert “Buddy” Mangini was elected as the Chamber’s new president during elections held last week.

Mangini, perhaps one of the most recognizable faces in the neighborhood through his work with numerous civic associations, will take over the presidency from Marisa Di Pietro who has served since February 2015.

Also elected during last week’s elections included  Jim Kearney from the Boston Public Schools as First Vice President; Kim Altschul  of East Boston Savings as Second Vice President; Veronica Robles of VROCC as Third Vice President; Marita Palavicini of Vilma’s Boutique as Kim Treasurer; and Joanna Cataldo of East Boston Neighborhood Health Center as Secretary.

DiPietro will serve as the Board’s Chair and Immediate Past President.

Elected as new members to the Chambers Board of Director for a two-year term was Shirley Fabbo of Massport, Maggie Lopez of First Class Hair Salon, Adnai Mendez of East Boston Savings Bank and Jose Torres of La Cancun Restaurant.

Directors that are returning to the Chamber board are Vinny Qualtieri of NOAH, Margaret Farmer of North Suffolk Mental Health, Lila Kanj of First Priority Credit Union, Alex Rhalimi, of Viridian, Mass Energy and Paul Scott of GoingClear Interactive.
