Two Shot at Maverick MBTA Station Tuesday

Once suspect is being sought in connection with a double shooting Tuesday afternoon inside the Maverick MBTA station. Police responded to the scene shorty before 3 p.m. after reports of a shooting.

Police arrived to find two victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

As of press time Tuesday, MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo said the victims suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police are searching for one suspect that may have fled the scene in a Tunnel Taxi towards Revere.

The age and gender of the victims was not immediately released and police are still gathering information from witnesses.

According to witnesses there was a scuffle on the train followed by the shooting.

The shooting caused the Maverick station to be closed right before the rush hour commute and buses were brought in to shuttle riders between Maverick and Boston.
