Work Still Needs to be Done

The story last week that Constitution Beach is not as usable as it was last year is a bit disturbing (although the beach still is ranked among the top 10 cleanest beaches from Nahant to Nantasket).

The culprit is the old pipes that take excess drain water from homes and businesses and dump them into Boston Harbor.

These old hookups that can date back 100 years will continue to add bacteria to the beach water as long as they exist.

We urge homeowners and businesses in our community to check their drainage pipes and to make sure that these pipes are just not dumping surplus rain water directly from homes into the bay water.

This project can be done easily and will only add to the quality of life in our neighborhood.
