Salvatore Pagliaro

Of Everett

Salvatore Pagliaro of Everett died on May 10.

Born in Pietraperzia Sicily Italy, he was the beloved husband of Josephine (Talluto); father of Leo of Salem, Salvatore Jr. of Everett, Robert and his wife, Melissa of Salem and Sarina and her husband, Diesse of Everett. He was the son of the late Liborio and Rosaria; brother of Michele, Rocco, Calogero, Rosario, Guiseppina, Rosetta, Maria and Vincenza, all of Italy and is also survived by five grandchildren: Makayla, Noah, Monica, Brett and Camrin and by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were by the Salvatore Rocco and Sons Funeral Home, Everett. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Salvatore’s memory may be made to the Elderly Service Plan, 10 Gobe St, East Boston, 02128.

Florenza (Florence) Dell’Orfano

Secular Franciscan Order member

Florenza J. (Florence) Dell’Orfano, a life long resident of East Boston, died on May 11. She was 91 years old.

A member of the Secular Franciscan Order, she was the beloved tenth child of the late Filomena (Cataldo) and Michael Dell’Orfano; sister of Abettina Dell’Orfano Morano of Saugus and the late Helen Dell’Orfano DiNucci, Ausillio, Umberto, Raffael, Anthony, Richard, James, Albert and Julie Dell’Orfano. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass was held in the Most Holy Redeemer Church on Monday and interment followed in the Dell’Orfano family lot in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Arrangements were by Magrath Funeral Home, East Boston.

Mary Todisco

Of East Boston

Mary P. (Vecchio) Todisco of East Boston, passed away on  May 16.  She was 92 years old.

She was the beloved wife of the late Mario A. Todisco Sr.; loving mother of Anthony Todisco of East Boston, Mario Todisco Jr. and his wife, Jeanine (Capone) Todisco of Winthrop and the late Arthur Todisco; cherished grandmother of Jennifer Melendez, Jesse Todisco, Marissa Todisco, David Todisco and Genneane Scuturio; dear sister of Louise Odoardi of Florida, the late Geraldine Kennedy and Victor and Anthony Vecchio and is also survived by many loving nephews, nieces and cousins.

Emanuel ‘Manny’ DeCristoforo

Retired electrician

Emanuel “Manny” DeCristoforo of Revere, formerly of East Boston, died on May 15. He was 99 years old.

Born and raised in East Boston before moving to Revere 70 years ago, he was an electrician, a member of Union Local 104 and a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving from April 12, 1940 to November 24, 1945 during World War II.

He was the beloved husband of the late Louise (Sciaraffa); devoted father of Paul and his wife, Rose of Dartmouth and Linda DeCristoforo of Revere; loving grandfather of Michael and his wife, Aimee of Attleboro; dear brother of the late Cristy, Alfred, Joseph, Raymond, Americo, Margaret D’Orlando, Dora Nappi, and Angie DeFronzo and is also survived by three loving great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Giuseppe Bilardi

Former proprietor of Pepe’s Pizza in Revere

Giuseppe Bilardi of East Boston, formerly of Naples, Italy, died on May 14 at Epoch of Melrose. He was 74 years old.

The former proprietor of Pepe’s Pizza in Revere, he was the beloved father of Gina Serino and her husband, Richard of Revere and Joseph Bilardi and his fiancé, Kelley Crowley of Salem, NH; loving grandfather of Richard Serino; dear brother of Assuntina Bilardi, Raffaele Bilardi, Marie Cardone, Alberto Bilardi, Gianni Bilardi and Vincenzo Bilardi and former husband of the late Florence (Candelora.)

Sabattino ‘Puggy’ Pugliese

Retired welder

Sabattino J. “Puggy” Pugliese of Thousand Oaks, CA, formerly of East Boston, passed away on  May 14 at Los Robles Hospital in Thousand Oaks, CA following a short illness.  He was 97 years old.

Sabattino worked as a welder for the state of Massachusetts and was a US Navy veteran of World War II  with the rank of Boatswain’s Mate Second Class. He received the World War II Victory Medal, American Theatre Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal (2 stars) and the Asiatic Pacific Theatre Medal (2 stars.)

He was the cherished son of the late Elisabetta (Schiavone) and Giuseppe Pugliese of Italy; beloved husband for 73 years of Mary (Basillio) Pugliese of Thousand Oaks, CA; loving father of Annabella Molea and her husband, Joseph of Woburn, Joseph Pugliese and his wife, Deborah of Thousand Oaks, CA and the late Elisabeth Gulla who is survived by her husband, Anthony Gulla of West Peabody; adored grandfather of William Gulla of Peabody, Jennifer Rogers of N. Andover, Robert  Molea of Groveland FL, Rick Molea of Winthrop and Joseph and Michelle Pugliese of Thousand Oaks, CA; caring brother of Rose Pugliese of East Boston and the late Theresa Pugliese, James “Jimmie” Pugliese and Rita Corvi.

Family and friends will honor Sabattino’s life by gathering in Vazza’s “Beechwood” Funeral Home, 262 Beach St. Revere today, Wednesday, May 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. Thursday  for a Funeral Service to be held in our Chapel of the Resurrection before leaving in procession to Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett for interment.  For guestbook and directions:

Pasqualina (Leggiero) Manzo of East Boston died on May 17

The beloved daughter of the late Michele and Sabatina (Dieso) Leggiero, she was the loving wife of the late Francesco Manzo; adored mother of Vincenzo Manzo and his wife, Debbie of Salem, NH, Aldo Manzo and his wife, Sandra of Middleton, Adolfo Manzo and his fiancée, Carol DeLorme of Revere and Concetta “Tina” Conte and her husband, Italo of Tewksbury; cherished grandmother of Francesco “Frankie” Manzo and his wife, Jamie, Lisa Manzo and Delia Conte; great-grandmother of Lilia and Enzo Manzo; dear sister of Gerardo Leggiero, Silvio DeStefano, Anna Capurso, Luigi Leggiero, the late Maria Montone, and Pompilia Impellazzaro.

Of Saugus, formerly of East Boston

Sabino DiPietro of Saugus, formerly of East Boston,  died unexpectedly on May 10.

He was the loving companion of Ruth Kennedy of Saugus; father of Michael DiPietro; brother of Jerry, Anthony and Louis DiPietro and Theresa Mascone Funeral arrangements were by the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home (Orient Heights) East Boston. Gloria Glennon

Of East Boston

Gloria M. (Arrigo) Glennon of East Boston died peacefully on May 12 in the Beth Israel Hospital after a brief illness.

Gloria was born in East Boston on January 12, 1927 to the late Philip and Marie (Panora) Arrigo. She was the beloved wife of over 45 years to James Glennon, Jr.; dear sister of the late Philip, George Conio, Anthony Arrigo and Lena K Larson and is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.
