Congratulations and Good Luck, State Rep. Madaro

We congratulate Adrian Madaro on his election as state representative for East Boston’s seat in the House of Representative and wish him the best as he is inaugurated today for this esteemed position in our government.

Adrian is a lifelong resident who won the seat after an exciting, hard-fought campaign in which five Democratic candidates and one Independent candidate sought to represent our neighborhood on Beacon Hill.

Adrian will be able to “hit the ground running” in his new position, having worked as chief of staff to State Rep. Carlo Basile and acquired first-hand knowledge of the political process in the 160-member House.

State Sen. Anthony Petruccelli and City Councilor Sal LaMattina will join with Madaro in giving East Boston an outstanding team of legislators representing our neighborhood. Having been a key member of Carlo Basile’s office for the past four years, Adrian has also built a professional, working relationship with Speaker of the House Robert A. DeLeo and his staff.

Adrian’s message of bringing the new and old East Boston together resonated well during his campaign. He was able to attract younger residents to the campaign and that helped propel him to strong victories in the primary and general elections.

Adrian built an outstanding campaign team, led by campaign manager Liana LaMattina, who will be his legislative aide. Liana was a tremendous asset to his campaign and her energy, talent, and initiative will become even more known to East Boston residents in the months ahead.

Adrian Madaro began his campaign for this prestigious office in December and worked hard to earn the trust and confidence of the voters. He succeeded in his effort and takes office at a crucial time with so many major issues to be addressed, debated, and voted upon.

The proposal to host the 2024 Summer Olympics in Boston is just one of many projects that Adrian will be asked to consider and to offer his opinion on during this year.

Residents made it clear at the ballot box that they believe Adrian, a son of East Boston, was an outstanding candidate for state representative and that he will look out for their best interests in all matters relating to their neighborhood.

Adrian’s mother, Debra Cave, had a lot to do with Adrian’s involvement in public life. She is a community activist of the highest caliber. In this instance, we can use the quote, “To whom much is given, much is expected.” Adrian will carry on well the family’s tradition of service to the community and the residents.
