John Bickford, Sr.

Of Gardner, formerly of East Boston

John H. Bickford, Sr. of Gardner, formerly of Peabody, East Boston and Cambridge, died on June 22.

He was the beloved husband of Arlene M. (Amarosi); father of John Jr. of Gardner and Craig and his wife, Melissa of Winchendon; grandfather of Andrea, John “Buddy,” Emily and Hannah; brother of Judith Backoff, Patricia Pepe, Robert, Richard, Ralph and the late William and Barbara Bickford. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, 45 Brooks St., East Boston Friday morning, June 27, at 10 o’clock. (Please go directly to church)

Luciano ‘Lou’ Chiulli

Of Winthrop, formerly of East Boston

Luciano D. “Lou” Chiulli of Winthrop, formerly of East Boston, passed away suddenly at the Massachusetts General hospital on June 21. He was 81 years old.

Lou, who served in the MA. Air National Guard from 1951 to1960, was a past member of the Sons of Italy, a former line dancing instructor for the Winthrop Parks and Recreation Dept. and a former Winthrop Little League Coach. Prior to his retirement, Lou worked as a manager in the Auto Body and Repair Industry.

The beloved husband of Helen M. (Flammia) Chiulli, he was born in Boston, the loving son of the late Sabatino and Maria (DiGianvitorio) Chiulli. He was the devoted father of Louis Chiulli and his wife, Susan of Saugus, Christine Cavaliere-Ogus and her husband, Gerald of Winthrop, and Joann Wright and her husband, Kenneth of Feeding Hills, MA; adored grandfather of Francis and Nicholas Cavaliere and Justin and Lauren Chiulli; dear brother of Giselda Sampson of Winthrop and the late Anthony and Dominic Chiulli; cherished Godfather to Mariann Nicoletti of Winthrop and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are by the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home, 210 Winthrop St., Winthrop. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. John the Evangelist Church-Winthrop today, Wednesday, June 25, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Winthrop Cemetery (Belle Isle Section.) Bartholomew ‘Bart’ Campanella

Rapino Memorial Home Employee and Member of East Boston DAV

Bartholomew J. “Bart” Campanella of East Boston passed away on June 21.

A US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a late member of the East Boston DAV, he was the beloved husband of Carmela “Camile” (Pascucci) Campanella of East Boston; loving father of Sharon Dillon and her husband, David of East Boston and Renee Campanella and her partner, Gus LaFace of Middleton; dear brother of the late Jennie Iannetti. He is also survived by three loving grandchildren; David, Michael and Derek. Bart was also a dear and trusted friend as well as a dedicated employee to the Tauro family and Rapino Memorial Home, East Boston.

Joseph ‘JoJo’ Yonuss

Of East Boston

Joseph “JoJo” Yonuss of East Boston died on June 16.

He was the loving son of Dorothy (Marshall) Yonuss and the late Joe DeCareau; father of Christopher Yonuss; husband of Kelly (Spring) Yonuss; step father to Chrissy and Samantha; grandfather to Domenic; dear brother of Lisa Marie Yonuss and also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Marie Staffieri

Bank of Boston Retiree, East Boston Elder Services Member

Marie E. (Langley) Staffieri of East Boston passed away peacefully on June 16. She was 83 years old.

Mrs. Staffieri was a member of East Boston Elder Services and a longtime employee of Bank of Boston retiring in 1995. She had a great love for the ocean, collecting sea shells and also enjoyed working with arts and crafts as well as traveling all over the world.

She was the devoted mother of Francis P Staffieri of Malden and Karen Staffieri of Bradford; dear sister of Patricia King of Holbrook and the late Anne Elaine McRee and Willard Langley and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
