Darrell B. Murphy died in East Boston on January 10. Darrell was employed at the Bank of America, Operations Center, Boston. He was the beloved son of Arthur J. “Jay” and Louise G. (Fagone) Murphy and is also survived by many aunts, uncle and cousins. Carmen Opidee, Jr.

Flight Instructor, Cook and Musician;

Of Gloucester, formerly of East Boston

Carmen J. Opidee, Jr. of Gloucester, formerly of East Boston, died unexpectedly on January 7. Carmen was a 1971 graduate of East Boston High School after which he moved to Colorado for several years where he was a restaurant owner. After relocating back to Massachusetts, Carmen was a flight instructor for National Aviation Academy. His great loves were cooking and music. He also played lead guitar in several local bands for many years. The beloved son of the late Alice (Conville) and Carmen Opidee, he was the father of Paul and Melanie Opidee, grandfather of Gabrielle, brother of Noreen and Paula Opidee and uncle of Alicia Opidee. Alfred “Al” DiPerri of East Boston died on January 11. The devoted son of the late Salvatore and Palma (D’Angelis) DiPerri, he was the beloved husband of the late Elsie (Gassiraro) DiPerri; loving father of Palma Leonardi and her husband, Ronald of East Boston and Beverly Glufling and her husband, Arthur of Everett; cherished Papa of Martina DiPerri Glufling of Everett; dear brother of Gessimino DiPerri and his wife, Theresa of East Boston, Palma Faldetta and her late husband, John of Londonderry, NH, Mary Bergeron and her late husband, Leo of Danvers, the late Salvatore DiPerria and his wife, Loraine, Joseph DiPerri and his wife, Mary, Orlando DiPerri, Richard DiPerri and his wife, Rosalie and Mary Vincent and her husband, Arthur. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews. His Funeral will be held from the Magrath Funeral Home, 325 Chelsea St. [at Day Sq] East Boston today, Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in the Sacred Heart Church, 45 Brooks St., East Boston, at 10 o’clock.
