Chamber Tree Lighting

The annual Chamber Tree Lighting and Holiday Parade is something that the entire community looks forward to every year.

But it’s the dozens of volunteers and Chamber members that make it possible.

Each year, people like Pat Todisco of Todisco Towing decorate his fleet of trucks and pulls Santa through the neighborhood from Condor Street to Orient Heights Square.

Then there is Joe Ruggiero of the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home that opens his business to residents to enjoy the food donated by Milano’s, Little Asia and El Kiosco.

You can’t forget Buddy Mangini who spends countless hours lending his time to numerous civic engagements including the annual tree lighting.

This year’s Chamber President Diane Modica executed a well planned event with the help of the Boston Police and city officials who kept the square closed and traffic moving so resident could enjoy a safe event.

There was also the East Boston Central Catholic School Choir who does a fantastic job each year under the tutelage of Mr. Pardy as well as the Beverly Richards Dancers who have shown up each year to entertain the crowd.
