Successful Eastie Pride Day

City Councilor Sal LaMattina, the Eastie Pride Day Committee and all the volunteers and donors that made the 25th Anniversary of this yearly neighborhood event such a great success deserve a big pat on the back.

This year’s Eastie Pride Day drew one of the biggest crowds with thousands of residents and former residents taking part in the day long event.

From the music to the performances to the games and activities for the kids everything was done perfectly.

There was ample food throughout the day, the weather was perfect and the musical performances by Joe Maraio, Smokin Joe Cheffro, Tavares, Louiso Aquino and Angelina Botticelli were top notch.

LaMattina and company couldn’t have asked for better turnout for the event and together with Mayor Thomas Menino, his last Eastie Pride Day appearance as Mayor of Boston, the Committee celebrated a successful 25th Anniversary.

We look forward to next year!

  • ‘Cept next year, it will be Ordinary Citizen LaMattina, not Councilor LaMattina, putting the event on.

Wouldn’t a better way to celebrate “Eastie Pride Day” be to walk up and
down Brooks, Meridian and other main throughways and pick up the
mind-boggling amount of litter? It’s kind of silly to celebrate “pride”
in a place where precious few clearly have any in their surroundings.
