East Boston Shines

The East Boston Times would like to thank the hundreds of volunteers that took time Saturday to participate in this year’s East Boston’s Boston Shines neighborhood cleanup.

The weather was good which led to more people helping out this year.

From Belle Isle March to Jeffries Point, residents spent most of the day cleaning parks, public facilities, Eastie’s three squares and other areas around the neighborhood that needed a little spring-cleaning.

This year’s event was made possible with the help of Eastie’s community groups and the City of Boston as well as donors like Suffolk Downs that donated mulch and other items that helped beautify squares and public facilities in the neighborhood.

There was also help from neighborhood church groups that provided manpower to the event.

Overall it was a job well done.
