Lightning Express Jumps Out To Early Lead in EBMHL Series

With starting goaltender Tony Dandrea sidelined with a groin injury, Milanos s Deli called upon Mario Long to man the pipes in the opening matchup of the best 2 out of 3 EBMHL Championship Seris that kicked off last Tuesday at the Porazzo Rink in East Boston.
Poised to take out an opponent that haunted them all season long, Milano s Deli used a fast start and struck first putting one past Nick Rossi, the EBMHL S top goaltender all season-long, on a Rob Pendola tally early in the first period for the one goal lead.

It wasn t too long after, that Pendola struck again notching his second tally of the night putting Milano s up 2-0 very early in the first. Lightning Express s offense had seen enough, as they peppered Long with shot after shot but Long was up to the task securing the two goal lead until David Collins was able to break the ice for Lightning with his first goal of the evening.

Another was soon to come as Collins buried another making the score 2-2. Clearly, Lightning had solved Long and was able to penetrate the D to open up the flood gates on Milano s. What started out a close contest turned into a bludgeoning as Milano s just couldn t handle the Lightning attack that continuously swarmed their D with their speed and power.
Lightning added single goals from Dom DiMarzo, Chris Sullivan, Jeff Delpidio, and Mike Preston. to catapult them to a 1 game series lead and the convincing 6-2 victory.

Game 2†played on March 26, 2013 with the (if necessary) game 3 on April 2, 2013. Come on down and catch the EBMHL Championship Series at the Porrazo Rink all games begin at 8:00pm sharp.
