The East Boston High School football team lost its season opener in a rematch against Blue Hills—Eastie’s foe during last year’s playoff game.
The Jets, who won the Boston North Title, lost 24-6 to Blue Hills, last year’s Division 4A Super Bowl champs in Canton Friday.
The last time the two teams met, Eastie and Blue Hills played an exciting game of football that was won on a Blue Hills field goal late in the fourth quarter.
Eastie had a tough time on defense covering Blue Hills’ offensive strategy of using three running backs. Vincent Burton, Barndon Gordon and Daryon Calhoun were stellar for Blue Hills and confused the Jets defense throughout the game.
