Rosemarie DeSisto

Sylvania Retiree

Rosemarie (Diorio) DeSisto of Winthrop, formerly of Everett and East Boston, died at her late residence on June 14. She was 91 years old.

Born in Boston, the daughter of the late Domenica (Volta) and Giuseppe Diorio, she worked as an assembler for Sylvania prior to her retirement.

She was the wife of the late Generoso DeSisto, the step mother of Joseph DeSisto of England and Anna Novack of Lowell, sister of Ruth Vosolo of Winthrop, Dorothy Papa of East Boston, William Diorio of Florida and the late Joseph Diorio, Anthony Diorio, Angelo Diorio and Mary Tirone and the longtime companion of the late Frank Papa. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

The family received relatives and friends at the Ernest P. Caggiano & Son – O’Maley Funeral Home, Winthrop. Services and entombment followed in the Versailles Mausoleum, Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Anita Nargi

Retired Medical Secretary

Anita (Miniscalco) Nargi of Winthrop, formerly of East Boston, died at the Eastpointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Chelsea on June 22 after a long illness. She was 83 years old.

Born in Boston, she resided in East Boston before moving to Winthrop 18 years ago. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a medical secretary at the East Boston Health Center/East Boston Social Center.

She was the beloved wife of Generoso Nargi, devoted mother of Paula Black and her husband, Bradley of West Roxbury and John Nargi of Winthrop; dear sister of Frank Miniscalco of Andover and Lola Belmonte of California.

Funeral arrangements were by the Ernest P. Caggiano & Son – O’ Maley Funeral Home, Winthrop.  Burial was in the Belle Isle Section of Winthrop Cemetery. Jean Torgersen

Jean A. (McWilliams) Torgersen of East Boston died on June 21.

She was the beloved wife of Ernest J. Torgersen; mother of Therese Guzman and her husband, Francisco of Everett, Ernest and Robert, both of East Boston, Stephen and his wife, Nancy of Easton, Ronald and his wife, Nancy of Manchester, NH and Joseph Torgersen and his wife, Lisa of Georgetown; sister of Marie Farley of East Boston, Richard of Malden, Gerald and Laurence, both of Revere and the late Francis, Daniel and Robert McWilliams; loving grandmother of Ciomara and Joshua Guzman, Joey, Kyle, Matty, Ryan, Jenna and Andrew Torgersen and is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Francesca La Rosa

Francesca (LaRosa) LaRosa of East Boston died on June 21. She was in her 99th year.

She was the beloved wife of the late Paul LaRosa; loving mother of Melina Cammarata and her husband, Salvatore of West  Roxbury, Anthony LaRosa and his wife, Maria of Saugus and Annette Hanlon and her husband, Robert of Methuen; dear sister of the late Paul Anthony and Angelo LaRosa; cherished Nonna of eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were by Vazza’s “Beechwood” Funeral Home, Revere. Burial was at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Boston.

Irene Hood

East Boston Resident

Irene E. (Carroll) Hood died in East Boston on June 18.

She was the mother of William Carroll of Florida; sister of Sarah Clark of Hanover and the late Ruth Hannon and Marion Carroll, dear friend of Marie Francis of East Boston and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Albert J. “Ray” Moore of Warwick, RI, formerly of Melrose, died on June 21.

A US Navy veteran of World War II, he was the beloved husband of the late Grace (Grandolfi) Moore; loving father of Anthony J. Moore and his wife, Aline of Rhode Island and John B. Moore of Methuen; cherished grandfather of Rachael Johnson, Layla, Christopher, Karen, Jacob, Joshua, Daniel and Hannah Moore; caring great grandfather of Ivy Johnson, Stephen and Nathaniel Moore and Winter Robinson and devoted brother of Rudolph Moore of New Hampshire, Georgette Pennace of N. Andover, Laura Potter of NewHampshire and the late Roland Moore.

Pamelia Hyacinth Sydney of East Boston died on June 17. She was the devoted wife of the late Stanley O’Brady and Andrew Sydney; beloved mother of Paulette O’Brady of Connecticut, Kenneth O’Brady of Trinidad, Anthony O’Brady of Connecticut and the late Dionyse O’Brady; dear sister of Judy and Agnes Pierre, both of New York and George and Popes Pierre, both of Trinidad. She is also lovingly survived by 10 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mark E Molloy of Revere, formerly of East Boston, died unexpectedly on June 22. He was 37 years old.

He was a Court Officer for Middlesex County and a past member of Revere Moose,He was the loving son of Mark F Molloy Ret. B.P.D Det. and Maria (DeLuca) Molloy; dear brother of Gina DiRocco and her husband, Lawrence Jr. of Chelsea, Roberta LePage and her husband, David of Revere and is also survived by many cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Speranza “Hope” DeAngelis of East Boston died on June 20.

The beloved daughter of the late Antonio and Margurite (Del Tergo) DeAngelis, she was the loving sister of Mary Rotigliano of East Boston and her late husband, Michael, and the late Carmen DeAngelis and his wife, Jennie; cherished aunt of Anthony Rotigliano and his wife, Annette of Peabody, Carmen Jr., and Margurite and is also survived by loving great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors today, Wednesday, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, corner of Brooks and Paris Streets, East Boston at 11a.m. Services will conclude with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
