Remembering Junior Lombardi

A birthday remembrance in last week’s East Boston Sun Times recalling the memory of Albert “Junior” Lombardi caused our minds to wander just a bit.

First off, it is impossible to believe that 9 years have passed since Junior died and that East Boston is a far less lively political place than when he was alive.

Junior, in every way, was a legend in this neighborhood.

He has not been forgotten. It is likely he will never be forgotten.

But as time passes, everything changes and this neighborhood has changed since his death, as he would be the first to admit.

It would be nice to have Junior among us again. If only man was God and we could bring him back.
