Last time the the Cubs and Athletics met they were both undefeated and it was the East Boston Little League game of the week.
The Athletics were able to break the Cubs’ win streak with a 8-4 victory that kept their own winning streak alive.
However, as the two faced off for the second time this season, the Cubs were able to even the score and now both teams are tied for first place with a record of 6-1.
This time the Cubs’ bats came alive and scored an impressive 14 runs against Athletics pitching.
However, good pitching and defense by the Athletics held the talented Cubs to the 14 runs while rallying in later innings to score 11 runs of their own.
