Comets Brought Down to Earth

Week 10 is in the books and the hockey, once again, was nothing short of spectacular. In Game 1 of the evening at Porazzo Rink on East Boston’s Constitution Beach, we saw The Comets, who notched their first win of the season in week 9, take on

The 113 Club in a great up and down hockey game from beginning to the end, but it was all 113 this evening, with the 113 power line of Peter Hanlon, Marc Lanzilli, and Mike Burri firing away all evening on Goalie Sean Robson powering them past the Comets 7-4. Lanzilli finished the evening with 4 goals, while Burri and Hanlon had one a piece, and Defenseman Mark Buttiglieri burying the single tally.

The Comet offense was provided by Jared Melilo, who had the hat trick, and Michael Gordon who lit the lamp once for the Comets. Game 2 saw the East Boston Yacht Club take on Yellow Taxi and their high powered offensive attack. Right out of the gate the boys from Yellow Taxi got on the scoreboard and poured it on the EBYC, only to have them storm back to make it close. Yellow Taxi was able to hang on for the 11-7 win. Leading the offense for Yellow Taxi was Michael Preston who provided the hat trick, while Defenseman Richie Russo, Paul Monzione, and Jim Leger had a pair each. Charlie Daniels once again led the way for the EBYC with hiIn the game of the night, it was 1st place Urban Sun Tanning taking on Bill Ashes in a battle of league heavyweights.

Once again the UST offense proved to much for the Bill Ashes boys , with Shawn Smith notching a hat trick with Mike Rodrigues, Ralphie Guarino, and Jeff Delpidio scoring one a piece.

The Bill Ashes offense used 4 different scorers and a very balanced attack on goalie Mike Gregorio who was able to hold Bill Ashes to just 4 goals. Darrell Interbartolo, Ray Khan, Sebastiano Amara, and David Chiaradonna were the Bill Ashes goalscorers. There is lots of hockey left to be played this season, so please stop in at the Porazzo Rink and support the EBMHL.
