Sousa and Amodeo honored by Gridiron Club

East Boston High School head football coach John Sousa and senior captain Brandon Amodeo were honored by the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston and the Massachusetts High School Football Coaches Association at their 12th annual high school football awards banquet.

Sousa received the William H. Ohrenberger Award for being the high school coach of the year. The award is named for Dr. Ohrenberger, a founding member of the Gridiron Club and former president of the organization.

Amodeo received the Dr. Joseph H. Burnett Award for being the most outstanding football player in the city of Boston. Dr. Burnett was the attending physician at football games at White Stadium for many years.
