Albert Pantano

36 year Bartender at Jevelli’s in East Boston

Albert W. Pantano of Everett, formerly of Revere and Somerville, died on March 20. He was 81 years old.

A US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a member of VFW Post 6712 and the Revere Loyal Order of the Moose. He tended bar at Jevelli’s Restaurant (Day Sq.) East Boston for more than 36 years.

He was the beloved husband of 58 years of Elena M. (Mogavero); devoted father of Albert J. Pantano and his wife, Janet, of Georgetown and Dennis Pantano of Everett; dear brother of Gloria Ventura of Nahant and the late Anita, Domenic and Robert Pantano; cherished grandfather of Amanda M. Pantano and her companion, Lawrence McMahon, of Denver, CO, Amie J. Pantano and Andrea L. Pantano, both of Georgetown and is also lovingly survived by several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rt. 107), Revere today, Wednesday, March 24 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Revere at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Vincent Strazzullo

Retired US Air Force TSgt

Vincent Strazzullo of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, formerly of the North End of Boston, died on March 20.

He retired from the US Air Force as a TSgt serving over 21 years.

He was the beloved husband of more than 53 years of Josephine R. (Romano) Strazzullo of Portsmouth; devoted father of Roberta A. Santangelo and her late husband, Raymond F. Jr., of Portsmouth and the late Marie B Margason; dear brother of William Strazzullo of Cambridge, Josephine Sarno of Las Vegas, Domenic Strazzullo of East Boston and the late Dennis Strazzullo; cherished grandfather of Jessica Santangelo of Portsmouth and is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial in Celebration of his life will be at The Sacred Heart Church, North Square, North End of Boston today, Wednesday, March 24 at 9:45 a.m. A Period of Visitation will be held prior to the Mass starting at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Services will conclude with Mr. Strazzullo being laid to rest in Woodlawn Mausoleum. Funeral arrangements are under direction of Ruggiero Mazzarella Memorial Home, East Boston.

Of Westwood, formerly of East Boston

Joseph R. Palmeira of Westwood, formerly of West Roxbury and East Boston, died on March 21.

He was the beloved husband of the late Rita C. (Fitzgerald); devoted father of Elaine A. and her husband, Carl A. Meyer, of Dedham, Warren J. and his wife, Heather, of Danbury, NH and Diane A. and her husband, Richard F. Travers, of Westwood; grandfather of Valerie, Eric and Carolyn Meyer, Laurie Tabory and Krysten Palmeira, Richard, Russell, Hayley and Keira Travers; brother of Grace Venezia of Revere and Jill Robinson of Hampton, NH and the late Regina, George, Edward and Beatrice.

Cosimo "Chip" Iannaccone of East Boston died on March 21.

A US Navy Veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Progressive Club.

He was the beloved husband of the late Frances (D’Amico) with whom he shared 48 years of marriage; loving father of Marie Famolare of Winthrop, Rosalie Luongo and her husband, George, of East Boston and Lois Graziano and her husband, Andrew, of Saugus; dear brother of the late Louis, Eugene, Mike and Archilio Iannaccone; cherished grandfather of Maria Shea, Rochelle Capozzi, April D’Alessandro and Ryan Luongo, six great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.

James DiChiara of Revere, formerly of East Boston, died on March 18.

A US Army veteran, he was a member of Local 22.

He was the beloved husband of the late Pamela (Bangs) DiChiara with whom he shared 42 years of marriage; loving father of Michelle L. DiChiara of South Boston, Tara DiChiara of Woburn and her former husband, Scott Booley, of Tewksbury and Melissa Brown and her husband, Thomas, of New Hampshire; dear brother of Angelo of Woburn, George of Peabody, Matteo of Revere and the late Mary Maffie, Frederick and Alfonse DiChiara; cherished grandfather of Zachary Booley and Samantha Brown.

Diana E. (Churchard) Rosati of East Boston, formerly of Wakefield and Lynnfield, died on March 18.

Julia F. "Julie" (Tracy) Foley of East Boston, formerly of Charlestown, died on March 17.

She was the wife of the late Gerald W. Foley; devoted mother of Cheryl Foley and her companion, Dennis Driscoll, Michelle "Shelly" Foley and William Foley, all of East Boston and Charlene Spivey and her husband, Tony, of Lufkin, Tx; loving Grammy to Fernando, Caitlin, James, William, Devlin, Kieran, Brighid and the late Amanda Valadez who died on March 16 and also her great-grandson; Connor. She was the beloved sister of Frederick Tracy of Lynn, Michael Tracy of Somerville, Alice Spinney of Wakefield, James Tracy of Medford, Arthur Tracy of Rockland the late Richard and Joseph Tracy. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Angelo "Chickie" De Angelis of East Boston died on March 18. He was 79 years old.

A goalie for many North Shore hockey teams, he was the beloved husband of the late Josephine (DiZio) DeAngelis with whom he shared 35 years of marriage; loving father of Joseph A. De Angelis of East Boston; cherished son of the late Joseph and Sadie (Aiello) DeAngelis; dear brother of Ann D’Alessandro of East Boston and the late Elaine Keiley and Mary T. Burke; dear friend of Carmen Enciso; loving uncle of Joanne, Diane, Linda, Carol, Judy and many great nieces and nephews.

Margaret (Pesella) Campagna of East Boston died on March 16.

The beloved wife of the late Robert F. Campagna, she was the mother of Alan and his wife, Ruth, and Carl Campagna, all of Acton; sister of the late John, Jerome, Angelo, Joseph and Rose Pesella; grandmother of Carol of California, Matthew of New Hampshire, Lara of North Carolina and Robert W. Campagna of Acton and is also survived by five great-grandchildren.

Anna Romano

Retired Supervisor at State Insurance Commission

Anna (Rubico) Romano of Greenfield, formerly of East Boston, died on March 16 at Franklin Medical Center. She was 85 years old.

Born Oct. 29, 1924 in Boston, daughter of Anthony and Teresa (Colantoni) Rubico, she married Felice Romano in June of 1944. He died in 2006.

She was a supervisor at the State of Massachusetts Insurance Commission but her life’s passion was her family. She was a homemaker, wife and mother who enjoyed cooking.

Her survivors include her two sons, Anthony and his wife, Linda, of Leyden and Philip and his wife, Leslie, of Plymouth, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a sister, Dorothy Rogers, of Peabody.

Arrangements were by the Walker Funeral Home, Greenfield, MA. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

North End resident

Katherine Pucci of Boston’s North End died on March 14.

She was the cherished daughter of the late Gasparo and Maria Pucci; dear sister of the late Joseph, Frank and Domenic Pucci; fond aunt of Anthony, Frankie and Joseph Pucci and great aunt of Marie, Maureen, Anthony and the late Kathleen Pucci and great great aunt of Andrew, Nicholas and Alana Pucci.

Former Sergeant at Arms of Sulmona Club

Charles LaRocca, formerly of Boston’s North End, died on March 15. He was 80 years old.

He was beloved by family and friends and liked to cook for them. He was Sergeant-at-Arms for the Sulmona Club on Fleet Street, Boston for many years.

He was the beloved son of the late Carmine and Assunta (Dinunzio) LaRocca; loving husband of more than 60 years to Anita (Rosati); father of Robert and his wife, Lorna LaRocca, of Chelsea, Charles LaRocca of Revere, Steven LaRocca of East Boston, Eliane Walsh of Somerville, Gail LaRocca and Vincent Ferrara of Boston’s North End, Sandra Forte of Saugus, and Anita and her husband, Louis Vaccaro, of Winthrop. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Nicole, Michael, Charles, Lia, Erika, Bianca, Sal, Tara and Alexis; great grand-children Ryan, Tayla, Michael, Ava and Laila; brother Carmen LaRocca of Florida and sister Anne DiMaria of Malden and his sister-in-law Theresa LaRocca of Cambridge.

Former "Sunshine Lady" for Revere League for the Disabled & Special Needs

Grace (Dibilio) Peroni of Revere, formerly of East Boston and Boston’s North End, died on March 13. She was in her 94th year.

A retiree of Blue Cross, Blue Shield of Boston and from the Stop & Shop Bakery, she was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary-DAV 6712 and a former "Sunshine Lady" for the Revere League for the Disabled & Special Needs.

She was the wife of the late Clement Peroni; devoted mother of Dr. John Peroni, PhD, former dean at North Essex Community College and his wife, JoAnn Peroni R.N., of Newburyport and Guy S. Peroni and his wife, Margaret, of Revere, both retirees of the Revere School System; cherished grandmother of Jessica D’Angelo and her husband, Ralph, of Wilmington, John G. Peroni and his wife, Tina, of Thornton, NH, Brett Peroni and his wife, Kerry. of Lakeville, MA and Michael Peroni and his wife, Nadine, of Wilmington. She is also lovingly survived by her great grandchildren, Joseph, Alexa, Taeya, Rachelle, Ryan, Devon, Alex and Sarah.
