In his last home game during a stellar coaching career, East Boston High School football coach John Sousa not only got a big win against Boston English High School but was also presented with a plaque by the English High football coaching staff.

Sousa and the Jets cruised past English 44-16, extending a six game winning streak to seven games and improving to 7-1 on the season last Friday Night at East Boston Stadium.

The Jets’ Brandon Amodeo, who scored two of Eastie’s six touchdowns during the last game against Brighton, ran for 107 yards for two more touchdowns against English. The Jets quarterback Troy Williams had 85 passing yards and two scores on the game.

The Jets got on the board early when Brandon Campell caught a 16-yard pass from Williams for a touchdown. Amodeo’s first of two touchdowns came in the first quarter with a 12-yard run through English’s defense making it 14-0.

English answered in the second quarter when Martin Kitchens ran the ball in 1-yard for a touchdown making the score 14-8. However, the Jets scored two unanswered touchdowns before the half. Brandon Campbell returned a 75-yard kickoff and Williams hit Kevin Orellana with a 40-yard pass making it 29-8 at the half.

In the third quarter, English still had trouble containing the Jets offense as Amodeo scored his second of two touchdowns on a five yard run making it 36-8.

Eastie scored one more time in the fourth on a 6-yard pass from Williams to Mark Robinson.

English would go on to score its second touchdown late in the fourth quarter and down by 44-8. Kitchens hit D’Ardick Jones with a 23-yard pass making the final score 44-16.
