EBHS boys soccer team wins the City League championship

The East Boston High School boys soccer team captured the City League Title last week against Madison Park at Franklin Field by a score of 1-0 with only 4:30 left on the clock.

After a Madison was called for handball, Eastie sent Carlos Andres Ruiz in for the penalty shot, which bounced off the hands of Madison Park goalie Beithoven Baesa and into the net.

However, after Eastie’s goal, Madison Park began the verbally and loudly disagree with referee Savas Trellopoulos original handball call.

With tempers flaring on both sides of the field, Trellopoulos was then hit in the back of the head by a ball thrown by Madison park player Venude Depina. Police were called in and the game was stopped for several minuted until tempers cooled.

Trellopoulos then called the win for Eastie thus giving them the title.
